Killed him today and was ok. Went down only once so it's fine. Best way was using auto turret and running around :)

But in earlier states of the game I enjoyed all the hard fights with bulwark of dawn and an incredible healing ability

Just made the same post before i found yours. I cant beat this dam boss. You would think after almost 12 months they would change it. It's not even that its hard but its rng. Half the time you run from the light an egg is sitting there. Then when you dodge the tenticles you roll into the spot they just left and the dot crap is still on the ground. You cant dodge it.

The boss isnt that hard. Its most likely ether your build or how you play. I have recently made two characters and the melee build had a small problem of doing damage (i was mostly health at that point) but the archer chewed right through it. Gotta learn how to toggle your Aspect in and out.
